Greenwich riverside development to see increase in flats after buyout

Bellway have purchased land beside the Thames in Greenwich where future stages of ‘River Gardens’ are planned. Three out of five of the main blocks have been built. A couple of changes are proposed.

Firstly, the riverside path is moved further away from the river with an adjustment of the shoreline. They say this is for flood protection reasons and to better connect with Enderby Wharf to the north.

The number of flats planned for this next stage has increased from 439 to 455.

Adjustments to the external appearance is pretty much unchanged save for some minor adjustments to massing and fenestration. A bit disappointing really as it’s one of the more clumsy developments in the area. Not befitting a prime riverside spot.

I've lived in south east London most of my life growing up in Greenwich borough and working in the area for many years. The site has contributors on occasion and we cover many different topics. Living and working in the area offers an insight into what is happening locally.
